Patient Tools
Online patient portals or personal health records have not gained significant adoption due to the fact that they often require the patient to manually manage their own information, the user interfaces are not particularly easy to use, and the system are focused more on data storage than on useful functionality. 

We plan to design systems that are easier to use and provide functionality of high value for patients and family members taking care of them.  We will focus particularly on patients with complex healthcare needs.   Examples will include:

• A single area that contains all the patient's physicians and healthcare providers, as well as how to contact them - whether it be via phone, fax, paging, email or secure messaging.
  
• A repository of Forms so that a patient can input the information online, re-use that information when seeing different physicians, and print those forms before their visits.
